And So It Goes

-Picked up the two-disc Twilight - whee!  Now I can make screencaps of Rosalie and start tracking down clothing pieces.

-Mom, Mom's friend Violet, and I went to the Columbus Museum of Art today and saw the touring exhibit of Egyptian funeral art from the Brooklyn Museum, entitled "To Live Forever."  I have always been fascinated by the ancient Eygptians, so this was a treat.  We were at the exhibit for about two hours and then we spent time in the main part of the museum.  I have actually never been to this museum, even though it's local, and I only only got about a quarter of the way through.  I love art, and even though I don't like all styles, I still respect it and make a point of reading about and viewing every piece.  The museum allows photography without flash, so I took a few pictures of pieces that I really loved.  (Unfortunately, photography was not allowed in the Egyptian exhibit).  I will post pictures tomorrow.  At the gift shop, I purchased a small soapstone statue of Bastet, my favorite Eqyptian goddess.

-While organizing my iTunes music, I "re-discovered" some songs that hadn't been played in a long time.  One of these is Billy Joel's "And So It Goes."  This simple, vulnerable, and haunting tune is an amazing song, and the lyrics call to me.

Yay!  My Girl Scout cookies came in today!  *munch munch*

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I saw Watchmen last Friday night at an all-digital theater.  I loved the movie.  The comics were better, of course, but I thought it was very well-done for a film adaptation.  I know I want to do the original Silk Spectre costume once  I lose weight and get fit.  I'm hoping to see it again next week.

I am so sick of wind pushing my car around on the freeway.  Grrrr.

There aren't many CDs I will buy anymore since I have my iTunes, but I had to get the new Kelly Clarkson and the new U2 Cds today - both were only $10 at Wal-Mart!

Mom and I are going to see the Ancient Egyptian exhibit on Saturday that is being held at the Columbus Museum of Art.  They DO allows photography, so I wll be sure to post pictures this weekend.

I downloaded the new Star Trek and Half-Blood Prince trailers last night while at a friend's.  AWESOME!!!!!  Of course, I had to make screencaps from the HP one; I'll put up some newer pictures in a day or two.

There is a costume exhibit here in Ohio I am planning on attending - anyone want to come with me?  It is called Fashion in Film and showcases 36 historical-based costumes from various movies, including Titanic, Ever After, Howard's End, Evita, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  Admission is $12 and it is being held at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati, running until April 26.

For more information:

I just e-mailed them to see if photography and/or sketching is allowed.  For those interested, I will let you know the answer when I hear back.

I am also getting to attend an Egyptian artifact exhibit in March with Mom, that is being shown here in Columbus.  Hooray for Ancient Egyptians!

A couple of costume exhibits I saw mentioned in this month's Ohio Magazine.  I am hoping to go to both and wanted to see if there were others interested in going.  I haven't had the time to check out the websites yet, so don't know much about them.
