While at lunch today, I started thinking about the Half-Blood Prince movie, and why I was overall very happy with it.  Of course, listening to the soundtrack the past week has made me think about it too.  I realized that a lot of this enjoyment came from subtle things in the film - many were probably unintentional, but if they were meant to be there, the crew was genius in putting them in.

Had a blast last night!  After running home from work, I took a quick nap and then changed into part of my costume.  I met up with Aaron and Terri in front of Rave, and we walked over to Red Robin for dinner.  Candace joined us about fifteen minutes later there, and we talked about books we have read, what we hoped to see in the movie, and our fandoms as introductions were made.  We headed back to the theater about 9:40pm, where I finished changing into Tonks.  We got in line about 9:55pm, and they let us in the doors about 10:15pm.  We spent the next hour playing Uno.  Mom arrived about 11:10pm and she joined in a game.  Rick stopped by around 11:40pm and said hello, and snagged a seat somewhere else in the theater.  The previews started right at 11:59pm, and the audience cheered when the movie began.

I enjoyed the movie a lot.  It is definitely at least my second-favorite, and may actually be my favorite now.  And I had no major quibbles with this one, just a few minor ones.  I think this is a first in the series for me!  LOL

Just six hours - wheeeeee!

I purchased my ticket for the 11:59pm showing tonight, and cannot wait!  Taking a nap here in a few minutes, then dinner at Red Robin at 8pm, then walking to the theater at 9:30 to get in line.  I already have the Uno cards, Tonks costume, and camera ready to go.

Yes, yurmble - a combination of "yuck" and "grumble," which precisely describes how I feel, and have felt, all day.  I have had a headache ever since I woke up this morning, and painkillers don't help.  I'm sure it's because of my glasses being so old, but it was making me feel sick to my stomach and light-headed today, bad enough that I decided to take some sick time and leave work early.  I hope it goes away tomorrow, as I have to drive to Worthington to get my root canal done (finally!).

I'm setting up an appointment with the eye doctor as soon as I can.  My benefits are now active, so I can afford glasses now.

Ick, I'm so tired of my head feeling like someone is pressing their hands hard against it.   *wants to decapitate herself*

On a more positive note, we had a good and productive meeting yesterday for Marcon.  For the third year, I am a panelist (doing five panels this year!) and this meeting was a chance to meet up with some of the other panelists and start planning what we will cover in a few weeks.  I am doing two Harry Potter panels (serving as moderator on both - eek!) - one on the Half-Blood Prince film and one I suggested about how the books and films have introduced British life and culture to Americans.  The other three I am on are a Sweeney Todd panel (another suggestion of mine), a Star Trek one (about the new movie) and one about the upcoming Hobbit movie.  I am still hoping to enter the Masquerade again - didn't have time and money for a new costume specifically for it, but I might enter the green and brown dress (the Dragonmaster) if I have time to do some tweaking.  Not sure what costumes I will wear during the days - definitely my Tonks, maybe my Sir Robin . . . *shrug*

I also downloaded the most recent HBP trailer.  *jawdrop*  A-fucking-mazing!  Of course, I made another bunch of screencaps, which I will post tomorrow.  I am soooooo excited for this movie; the more footage I see, the more stoked I become.  I want it now!

Yay!  My Girl Scout cookies came in today!  *munch munch*

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I saw Watchmen last Friday night at an all-digital theater.  I loved the movie.  The comics were better, of course, but I thought it was very well-done for a film adaptation.  I know I want to do the original Silk Spectre costume once  I lose weight and get fit.  I'm hoping to see it again next week.  

I am so sick of wind pushing my car around on the freeway.  Grrrr.

There aren't many CDs I will buy anymore since I have my iTunes, but I had to get the new Kelly Clarkson and the new U2 Cds today - both were only $10 at Wal-Mart!

Mom and I are going to see the Ancient Egyptian exhibit on Saturday that is being held at the Columbus Museum of Art.  They DO allows photography, so I wll be sure to post pictures this weekend.

I downloaded the new Star Trek and Half-Blood Prince trailers last night while at a friend's.  AWESOME!!!!!  Of course, I had to make screencaps from the HP one; I'll put up some newer pictures in a day or two.

I just found out there is no Harry Potter movie this year!  *cries*  Warner Brothers decided to move it to next bloody July because they think it will make more money then.  So now of being excited about getting to see the adaptation of my favorite book, I now have to wait another freaking eight months!  Stupid WB!  That probably means the video game will be delayed too, and I was getting excited to play that over the holidays.  Now with the exception of Twilight, I don't have any movies coming out this year that are "OMG, must see NOW."
